Clinical and Machine Learning Expert, Dr. Ziad Obermeyer Joins GNS Healthcare's Strategic Advisory Board

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Sept. 18, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- GNS Healthcare (GNS), a leading precision medicine company, today announced the appointment of Ziad Obermeyer, MD, Associate Professor of Health Policy and Management at the UC Berkeley School of Public Health, to its strategic advisory board. Dr. Obermeyer is an emergency physician and researcher who works at the intersection of machine learning and health, using technology to provide better care for patients and drive innovations in research.

Dr. Obermeyer earned his MD (magna cum laude) at Harvard Medical school and completed his clinical residency in emergency medicine at the Brigham & Women's, Massachusetts General, and Boston Children's Hospitals. He holds a bachelor's degree from Harvard College and a Master of Philosophy from Cambridge University. In 2012 he received the Early Independence Awards from the High Risk—High Reward Portfolio of the Office of the Director of the National Institutes of Health. His work has been published in Science, The New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA, The BMJ, and Health Affairs.
