SAN JOSE, Calif., Sept. 26, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Cloud Cruiser, a leading provider of cloud consumption analytics, today announced the release of new capabilities on its Cloud Cruiser 16™ SaaS application which allows customers to maximize their cloud spending and optimize services consumption. Cloud Cruiser 16™ provides rich reporting and analytics for hybrid cloud consumption and costs, which eliminates waste, controls spending, and drives business agility and value. With these new optimization capabilities, customers can now predict future spending with a high degree of confidence and determine exactly which services and which provider they should select.
"It's a hybrid cloud world and customers enjoy flexibility and choice across a number of providers," states Fraser McKay, SVP Products at Cloud Cruiser. "With cloud's pay-as-you-go model, you can switch service types and rates, or shift workloads from AWS to Azure or Google in just a few clicks, which is extremely powerful. Imagine the leverage the customer now has with a reliable 'what-if' modeling tool that offers the choice of resources across a range of public and private providers and shows them how moving a workload or downsizing underutilized VMs would affect their costs. These new features put the customer in the driver's seat. It's like having an economic advisor built in, that shows you exactly how your choices will impact your future," added McKay.
Cloud Cruiser 16™ new optimization features include:
- What-If: Models rates across public and private cloud providers to compare resource costs for different services, locations, operating systems, or providers. With an intuitive drag-and-drop interface, What-If delivers a powerful planning and optimization tool for all users.
- RI Advisor: Shows how to maximize cost savings with AWS Reserved Instances (RIs). Based on hourly usage, the RI Advisor identifies cost savings opportunities and recommends the specific RI modifications, purchases, and sales that should be made to produce the lowest cost. It can even perform the recommended actions, eliminating the cumbersome process in the AWS portal.
- Insights: An advanced analytics engine pinpoints exactly where you need to make adjustments and take action based on configurable business rules such as over- or underutilized resources or sudden changes in spend. Insights now offers the ability to click and take action on a resource by linking you to the specific place where you can modify or shut down the resource.
"Cloud Cruiser 16™ is directly addressing our customer pain points," says Deirdre Mahon, CMO, Cloud Cruiser. "Every cloud consumer that is investing in hybrid services must have these optimization capabilities at their fingertips," added Mahon. "Can you imagine the painful spreadsheet modeling required to gather all the current public cloud service rates, across providers, then predict what the business users need over time and determine the best possible outcome? I bet it would take weeks to months to figure out, not to mention a small army of people. Cloud Cruiser can do this in less than a minute, plus it's accurate."
Cloud Cruiser will be demonstrating its new optimization features in a webcast entitled 'Tune your Cloud: Optimization Basics' on October 13th at 10:00am PDT / 1:00pm EDT. Register here.
