Cloud Harmonics Expects to Train 4000 Engineers in 2016
Next-Generation Distributor Helps Address Cybersecurity Expertise Shortage; Preparing Engineers to Attain Certifications on Next-Generation Firewalls
SAN JOSE, Calif., Feb. 9, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Cloud Harmonics, the fastest growing full-service, Next-Generation Distributor for emerging cybersecurity and cloud solutions, announced today its plans to train more than 4000 engineers on the latest cybersecurity technologies. This increase in training capacity will help engineers get the skills and hands on expertise they need to confidently deploy and work with the Palo Alto Networks® Next-Generation Security Platform and other cutting edge cybersecurity technologies.
It's a step towards helping close the talent gap that currently exists today - 86 percent of the 3,436 respondents to the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) survey believe there is a shortage of skilled cybersecurity professionals; the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that by 2020 there will be 1.4 million computer-science-related jobs available and only 400,000 computer science graduates with the skills to apply for those jobs.
Through its proprietary Orchestra delivery platform, Cloud Harmonics offers the industry's broadest curriculum of instructor-led, vendor-accredited virtual technical training available on next-generation technologies, cybersecurity solutions and cloud offerings. Attendees learn from Cloud Harmonics' expert trainers, who have decades of real-world cybersecurity experience, as well as the hands-on practice they receive through Cloud Harmonics' unique vSandboxes.
"We are pleased to see Cloud Harmonics add capacity and focus to the high quality technical training our partners and customers are looking for to build their competencies around next-generation technologies and enable them to address their toughest cybersecurity problems and ultimately prevent successful cyber breaches," said Brett Eldridge, senior vice president, Global Customer Services, Palo Alto Networks.
Cloud Harmonics trained more than 3000 engineers in 2015, with a 97% overall student satisfaction rating. In addition to the virtual class time, Cloud Harmonics provides all attendees the opportunity to test and evaluate capabilities through its proprietary vSandbox platform.
"The increase in capacity is in line with Cloud Harmonics' unique distribution methodology," said Doug Chalmers, COO of Cloud Harmonics. "We are committed to educating, engaging and enabling the channel to increase their competencies around next-gen cybersecurity technologies to accelerate their adoption and profitability."
