SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Helen Attridge, CEO and training director of the Academy of Coaching and NLP (A.C.N.), is changing the world one coach at a time. The international trainer and master certified coach's unique perspective was hatched in China. She had taken a teaching job with the NLP's Institute of California coach training program in China after working with CEOs and executives internationally as a Results Coach for the Anthony Robbins Company.
"My teaching job in China opened my eyes and I saw that the Chinese are hungry, not just for corporate growth but also for personal development," says Attridge. According to an article in Forbes magazine (Where China's New Rich Are Putting Their Money / 3/28/12), almost half of affluent high net worth individuals in China intend to take part in training programs over the next three years. An old Chinese proverb stating, "remember what you have received and forget what you have given" leads Attridge to believe that the country is ripe for an explosion of philanthropy.
This is the China that she is convinced will surprise the rest of the world with their rapid ascent to embrace change, learn and grow. "Students are seeking coach training programs for the certification, but wind up walking away with much more than that from A.C.N.," says Attridge. "My company's trainings in China have really touched me at a core level; the students have a deep desire for growth personally and professionally. I am moved by their strong desire to heal themselves, their families, their work environments, their community and their country," she added.
In her more than five years teaching in China, Attridge says there is a common theme that strikes a chord with her students. Whether on a professional or personal level they are seeking a happy medium that blends traditional values with modern living in a global world.
What A.C.N.'s Chinese graduates are reporting:
Sky Jeng's big dream is to change the education system in China. His core value is to contribute a long and lasting legacy for the children of China by designing a new model that brings coaching into the school system. He hopes to look back at China in 30 years time and see that the system he is initiating will change the next generation of leaders. To facilitate this, Sky is approaching administrators in different provinces to assist him. He wants to make this type of education available for everyone independent of their economic background and launched Happy 1+1 to support students one on one for long-term educational needs both spiritual and financial. Since graduating from the A.C.N. training in Shenzhen, he has helped many students get a great start. http://blog.sina.com.cn/springdaleschool.
Adams Ding's big dream is to impact high-level managers and entrepreneurs to realize their full potential and how they can contribute to their team and company. A successful business coach, Adams started a business called Three Loves: Love of Self; Love of Family; Love the World. Three Loves ties traditional teaching with Chinese values with a global vision.
Kevin Tian's big dream is to empower Chinese leaders through coaching to make decisions from their hearts … introducing a "heart" centered leadership model to China. He left his corporate job to pursue this.
Zhang Lei's big dream is to open a post-pregnancy clinic in China. She is the owner of a Beijing television station.
A new level of desire inside China to improve work environments and family life is fueling the trend of enrolling in coaching programs in China. From the great teaching of Confucius we learn, "When we have healed ourselves, our families, our communities and our nations, then we can heal the world."
ABOUT A.C.N. and HELEN ATTRIDGE
Helen Attridge is on a mission to bring people together to discuss how they can bring about change in the world. In 2009, she took over the NLP Coach Training Program, changed the name to the Academy of Coaching and NLP, and created an intensive coaching program that emphasizes creating one's own "ripple of change" to help people dramatically transform their lives and the lives of others.
Her unique program does that through an experiential, holistic training model that uses NLP to help coaches gain the coaching and interpersonal skills they need to work effectively. NLP—which stands for neuro (the brain), linguistic (communication), programming (the organization of information to create the results you want)—steers the brain to find solutions.
Attridge's Academy of Coaching and NLP, which is accredited by the rigorous International Coach Federation (ICF), moves each client toward an increased understanding of his/her choices by providing support that enhances the client's own talents, resources and vision. "We elicit solutions from the client," says Attridge. "The coach helps the client create the results he/she wants by facilitating the solution rather than coming up with it. Our students use the training to help others transform themselves and the world around them."
Attridge's ripple of change focus attracts a global clientele from a multitude of different backgrounds, including health professionals, executives, therapists, veteran coaches seeking the prestigious ICF credential and people who are completely new to the field. This year's summer intensive training in the San Francisco Bay Area attracted students from many different countries including China, Mexico, Russia, Turkey, Brazil, Israel, Estonia, France, England, Singapore and the U.S.
Helen, who was born and raised in Ireland and holds American citizenship, considers herself a global citizen. She left home at a relatively young age, traveled, studied and worked her way around the world. Helen's ability to adapt and connect across cultures, ages and religions has created the perfect blend of life experience and training to do this important work.
