College Inn, known for their great tasting broths and premium ingredients, challenged at-home chefs this fall to create flavorful recipes using College Inn broth.
To help choose the winning recipe, College Inn asked celebrity chef and Food Network personality Amanda Freitag to help judge 15 semi-finalist recipes based on creativity and inspiration, appearance/presentation, and taste.
"It was such a treat to be a judge for the College Inn Ultimate Recipe Challenge," said Chef Amanda Freitag. "I was truly impressed with how the rich flavors found in College Inn® broth complemented the unique textures and different spices of Pamela's soup."
"My Creamy Chicken Enchilada Soup makes for the perfect weeknight decadence," said Pamela. "Fusing College Inn broth with spicy, tangy flavors you would find in an enchilada resulted in a great tasting soup I am proud to share."
Pamela was awarded the $5,000 Grand Prize for her enchilada-inspired recipe in the Soups and Stews category, as well as a $500 gift card in the Side Dish Category Prize for her Savory Honey Mustard Poached Pears and Figs recipe.
"We want to congratulate Pamela on her winning recipe and thank all the at-home chefs who took the time to submit such creative recipes," said Peter Bushbaker, Brand Manager, College Inn. "As a token of our appreciation, we will be donating $20,000 towards the Share Our Strength® No Kid Hungry® campaign to start off the New Year."
As a strong supporter of Share Our Strength® No Kid Hungry® campaign, a national effort to end childhood hunger in America, College Inn will also be providing Pamela with a trip to San Francisco to attend a No Kid Hungry® dinner, where Chef Amanda Freitag will help prepare her winning recipe for attendees.
