COLOR MUSE Gives Homeowners Revolutionary New Tool For Decorating and Home Improvement Projects
Color Scanning Device and Mobile App with Access to More Than 1 Million Products Digitizes the Way Colors and Products are Sourced, Organized, Shared and Purchased
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn., Sept. 15, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Homeowners and DIY'ers now have a new digital resource for streamlining home decorating and improvement projects. Introduced Sept 1st, COLOR MUSE is a low-cost mobile color scanning system that digitizes the way colors and home-related products are accurately sourced, organized, purchased and even shared on social media.
With COLOR MUSE, consumers no longer need to chip paint from walls, carry around fan decks or large product samples to and from home improvement stores. Now, using the COLOR MUSE handheld device and mobile app, consumers simply scan the color they want from any item or texture – a wall, a tile, a cushion, even a brick – then match it to virtually any product they desire.
COLOR MUSE offers an online product library of 1 million-plus products from 400 brand names across 14 product categories. From paint and carpet to window treatments and laminates, consumers can shop for leading brands such as AmericanTile®, Benjamin Moore®, Formica®, Garrett Leather®, Sunbrella®, Shaw®, and Wilsonart®. They can even find and purchase products directly from their local Lowe's or Home Depot. New products are automatically updated to the app, adding to the ever-increasing catalog.
As an added feature, the COLOR MUSE app also sources thousands of apparel, footwear and accessories from designer brands including Adidas and Calvin Klein and from popular retailers such as Macy's, Target, Nordstrom and Amazon.
COLOR MUSE provides far greater color matching accuracy than today's smart phones and camera features. The COLOR MUSE device contains its own built-in light source and blocks out ambient light and captures all colors of the spectrum, not just RGB colors. It also contains an industrial detector that mimics the way humans see color. Combined, this technology creates a near 100 percent color matching capability, which no other device in the marketplace can duplicate.
"With the ability to scan the correct color right off the bat, the biggest advantage is the massive amount of guessing time saved," said color expert and interior designer Jennifer Guerin of JG Color Studio. "Whether it's touching up paint with little or no evidence of the existing color or finding the perfect color in a hard to match area, COLOR MUSE saves an invaluable amount of hours."
Through the app, homeowners and interior decorators can cross-reference brands, add colors to their palettes, upload their own photos, view room scenes with their color choices and much more. They can easily share their colors, products and photos with clients and friends through Adobe files via email, text message or social media. Likewise, inspirational images found on Instagram or Pinterest can be easily integrated into a user's COLOR MUSE app.
Using COLOR MUSE is easy. After downloading and opening the app, users press the "wake" button on the handheld device. Once connected via Bluetooth®, users place the device directly on the element they want scanned and within seconds the color match appears in the app.
The handheld device - smartly designed to fit in a pocket, purse or messenger bag - retails for $49.00 (not including tax and shipping) and can be purchased online at http://colormuse.io. The app, compatible with iOS and Android smart phones and tablet devices, is free and can be downloaded at the Apple App Store or at Google Play.
