LIVERMORE, Calif., Aug. 25, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Comcast Business today announced a major expansion of its advanced fiber network to the Meyers Business Park in Chico, California, and will hold a ribbon cutting celebration today at 11:45 a.m. at 24 Bellarmine Court to unveil the network. Elected officials, as well as business and community leaders from across the region, are expected to attend to applaud the new high-capacity network and what it means to Chico businesses, including manufacturing, construction and agriculture, to help them manage data growth, drive application performance, and take advantage of data center and cloud services.

Comcast installed more than three and a half miles of fiber, both underground and aerial, from its existing lines to the business park and its 166 businesses. The high-performance fiber network will provide the businesses with Internet services up to 10 Gbps, which is critical for the site's data intensive businesses. The expansion comes as a result of a more than $350,000 investment from Comcast.
