Commerce Appropriator Fattah Says Lower Jobless Rate Shows Economy Moving in Right Direction
WASHINGTON, Sept. 7, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Congressman Chaka Fattah (D-PA), the lead House Democratic Appropriator for the Department of Commerce, issues this statement upon release of the national jobs report:
"Today's report, with the unemployment rate dropping to 8.1 percent, marks 30 consecutive months of private sector job growth under the leadership of President Obama. About 4.6 million Americans are better off in the workplace, thanks to this sustained job growth.
"And while there's still work to be done, today's report, with 103,000 more jobs in the private sector and net growth of 96,000 jobs, demonstrates that the President's plan for growing our economy in difficult times and building opportunity for the middle class is making real progress."
