Comprehensive Care Corporation Announces Strategic Partnership With Major Health Care Data Analytics Company
TAMPA, Fla., Sept. 27, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Comprehensive Care Corporation (OTC BB: CHCR), which provides behavioral health, substance abuse and psychotropic pharmacy management services for managed care companies throughout the U.S., today announced a strategic partnership with Care Management Technologies (CMT), Morrisville, North Carolina.
CMT, a specialized health information technology company, will provide to CompCare data and analytics support in its effort to better integrate behavioral health, medical and pharmaceutical care for consumers, while also reducing drug distribution and administrative costs. "CMT can target patients who are at-risk for poor health outcomes because of inappropriate medications or patients with more than one disorder who need specialized treatment," said Clark A. Marcus, CompCare's Chairman and CEO.
"CMT, one of the best analytic companies in the sector, will provide synergy for our focus on integrated care and 'wellness,' including keeping the patient optimally healthy, while decreasing the need for expensive behavioral intervention and pharmaceutical interventions. We are pleased to announce this alliance which will also allow us to work toward our goal of reducing the use of inappropriate emergency room admissions and excessive lengths of hospital stays. We believe that CompCare is not only at the forefront of recognizing the relationship between poor general health and behavioral health problems, but, more to the point, we are in the forefront of developing ancillary programs aimed at reducing those problems from inception – wellness. Health information technology and analytics will play a vital role in achieving these important goals," Mr. Marcus said.
"Care Management Technologies is delighted to be Comprehensive Care's partner in the important work being done in Puerto Rico. We look forward to this alliance, and to helping improve behavioral health care for the people of Puerto Rico," says Carol Duncan Clayton, PhD, CMT's President.
