Concentra Gains Footprint in Lexington with UTC Acquisition Acquisition brings more locations for convenient health care services
ADDISON, Texas, Sept. 4, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Concentra, a subsidiary of Humana Inc., announced today it has expanded its footprint in Kentucky with the acquisition of Urgent Treatment Clinics (UTC) in Lexington, which includes seven centers in the area.
While still preserving the Urgent Treatment Clinics name, this transaction represents a new market for Concentra, with seven new medical centers locations in Lexington and surrounding communities. The majority of UTC's medical support staff, non-medical personnel, and physicians, including UTC's former owners, Dr. Fadi Bacha and Dr. Larry Burns, have been retained by Concentra, building on the long-standing relationships that they have developed in the Lexington market. Financial details of the acquisition were not released.
"This is an excellent opportunity to grow our national footprint and further support the delivery of exceptional medical care to the Lexington marketplace," Ted Bucknam, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Concentra. "UTC has a proven record of service to the community, providing comprehensive medical treatment for both the private patient and employer communities – a philosophy that parallels that of Concentra and ultimately results in tremendous benefits for patients and clients."
Through this purchase, UTC staff and providers gain additional resources from Concentra to continue to deliver exceptional patient care to the Lexington community; while the national urgent care provider continues to demonstrate its commitment to create additional access points for quality and convenient medical care. This acquisition supports Concentra's position as a national provider of urgent care services, and a growing demand for comprehensive health and wellness services.
Concentra's affiliates employ board-certified physicians, licensed therapists, occupational health specialists, and trained medical technicians to deliver exceptional heath care to patients across the country. Existing patients of UTC will have increased access to quality and convenient health services through Concentra Urgent Care locations. For a complete list of locations, visit www.Concentra.com.
