Conference Precertification Seminar Prepares Professionals to Recognize, Treat Early Signs of Eating Disorders
The iaedp Foundation Provides First-Time Offering of All Precertification Courses Before the 2013 Symposium in Las Vegas, March 21 - 24
PEKIN, Ill., Nov. 2, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- For the first time, the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (iaedp) Foundation is introducing the professional certification courses live at iaedp's Symposium 2013 on March 20 and 21, immediately before the start of the annual Symposium program. The two-day, 12-hour track program also provides an opportunity for professionals who are new to the field or who do not specialize in eating disorders, but are often the first medical professional to see the signs and symptoms that their patients are suffering with disordered eating.
All prerequisites for certification regarding education, experience, supervision and successful completion of a written examination apply. Each course is a 3-hour workshop, and is being provided as a separate track for $200 or combined with a 2013 Symposium registration for an additional $100. The curriculum for the seminar will be taught by the iaedp Advisory Board members, including: Kimberli McCallum, MD, Holly Finlay, MA, LPCC, Cathy Reto, PhD, Vicki Berkus, MD, PhD, CEDS and Ralph Carson, PhD, RD.
"We couldn't be more excited about offering this precertification program," said iaedp managing director, Bonnie Harken. "Professionals are so busy. This is an efficient way to complete the precertification course work with the help of some of the most well-known and qualified professionals in the country. If someone is already planning to attend Symposium 2013, then the precertification seminar is really a great opportunity and price."
