Congressman Tom McClintock Backs John Eastman for Attorney General
LONG BEACH, Calif., Feb. 18 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- John Eastman's campaign for Attorney General received a major boost today, announcing that Congressman Tom McClintock, one of the most respected conservative leaders in the state, had endorsed his candidacy.
"It's rare that a candidate with John Eastman's understanding of the constitutional limitations on the power of government seeks an office as important as California Attorney General," said Congressman McClintock. "John Eastman has spent a lifetime fighting for the values that define not only the Republican Party, but conservatism and the rule of law. His legal record reflects our shared philosophy. He's defended Proposition 13, allowing Californians to keep more of their hard earned money. He's protected property rights and fought eminent domain abuse. He's been one of the leading voices of the sovereign power of the people to enact measures such as "Three Strikes, You're Out" to lock up career violent felons for life, and Proposition 8 to restore the traditional definition of marriage. After four years of Jerry Brown, I can think of no one I would rather have as Attorney General than John Eastman."
"For decades, Tom McClintock and I have fought the same fights, defending core constitutional principles, and keeping California safe and free," added Eastman. "I'm proud to have his support."
"Tom McClintock's endorsement is the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval for Republican Primary voters," said Jeff Flint, strategist for Eastman for Attorney General campaign. "His endorsement gives our campaign momentum as we begin to introduce John throughout the state."
