"For almost a century, Congress has denied the citizens of Puerto Rico their full constitutional rights," said Alfonso Aguilar, Executive Director of the Latino Partnership for Conservative Principles. "They cannot vote for the president that can send their children to war and they don't have adequate and proportional representation in Congress.  This goes against the most very basic principles of our founding and every constitutional conservative should oppose this undemocratic arrangement.  Ronald Reagan understood this and that's why he strongly supported statehood for Puerto Rico."

The Latino Partnership for Conservative Principles promotes conservative values and ideals within the Latino community and works to integrate Latinos into fuller and more active participation and leadership in the conservative movement. It is an initiative of The American Principles Project, a 501(c)(3) organization.
