On December 12, 2016, Quest announced that it is internally investigating a possible hack that may have affected thousands of accounts. Quest said that "an unauthorized third party" accessed about 34,000 of individuals using its MyQuest by Care360 app on Nov. 26. Quest revealed that the data accessed included users' "name, date of birth, lab results, and in some instances, telephone numbers". Quest said it has contacted the users who were affected by the hack and made changes to the app's security.
