Cook Children's Medical Center Named 7th Accredited Heart Failure Pediatric Center by The Healthcare Colloquium
COLUMBUS, Ohio, Feb. 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Cook Children's Medical Center earned the distinction of becoming an Accredited Pediatric Heart Failure Center by The Healthcare Colloquium late last month. Cook Children's is the 2nd pediatric facility in Texas and the 7th pediatric healthcare facility in the nation to earn this title.

As part of the accreditation milestone work, Cook Children's Medical Center focused on guaranteeing their staff was better educated in pediatric heart failure. "Cook Children's excels at ensuring that all staff members who come into contact with children in heart failure are educated, including environmental services to an extensive orientation for Cardiac Specialty Care Unit nurses," remarked Shylah Haldeman, MSN, NP-C, CCTC, Heart Failure/Heart Transplant Coordinator from Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children who was also a site reviewer on behalf of The Healthcare Colloquium.
