Corbett education funding choices criticized in new TV ad
BLUE BELL, Pa., April 8, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- A new television ad began airing today criticizing Governor Tom Corbett's budget priorities for education, calling them "false choices."
The ad is sponsored by Real American Values, a social welfare and public policy organization from Blue Bell, PA.
In the ad, Real American Values notes that Governor Corbett chose to cut $1 billion from education funding, resulting in larger classroom sizes and more risk for Pennsylvania's children. At the same time, Corbett gave tax cuts to corporations.
The ad goes on to say that, this year, Governor Corbett again chose more tax cuts to corporations instead of funding for education and points out that he also took thousands of dollars in gifts from CEOs and lobbyists. Recent press reports have detailed gifts and trips Corbett received from oil and natural gas industry executives.
