Corporations Set to Network with Veteran Entrepreneurs at 8th Annual Veterans Business Symposium
KENT, Ohio, Nov. 4, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- The Northeast Ohio Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC), in conjunction with the U.S. Small Business Administration and the Veterans Business Council of Northern Ohio (VBCNO), and Cuyahoga Community College will be hosting the 8th Annual Veterans Business Symposium on November 18, 2010. This year's event will be held in the Student Center at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio. The theme of this year's event is "Let Success Begin with Me."
"Now in its eighth year, this conference has grown into one of the largest veteran business networking events in the country," said Symposium spokesperson Rick DeChant. "Last year we had 325 participants from a four-state area in attendance. We expect to exceed that number this year as more and more veteran business owners are looking for networking opportunities to help grow their businesses." DeChant said the focus of the symposium is to foster relationships between corporate and government diversity purchasing agents and veteran business suppliers.
"By bringing together exhibitors from major corporations, small businesses, Veteran businesses, and government agencies, the 8th Annual Veterans Business Symposium will enable participants to leverage the strength and competitive advantage of diversity," said DeChant. "Veteran business enterprises exhibiting will have an opportunity to demonstrate the value of their products and services, while large corporations and their prime suppliers can discuss current or upcoming opportunities."
The day's activities will include a continental breakfast and lunch, with a keynote address by regionally recognized investment strategist Blake Rawson focused on weathering the current financial storm. Additional guest presenters will be conducting breakout sessions focusing on: going global, working with the GSA, financing and bonding, and best practices from successful veteran business owners.
