CPSI Named a First-Wave Partner for the Shared Learning Collaborative
COLUMBIA, Ill., Nov. 19, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- CPSI, Ltd., CPSI is proud to announce a partnership with the Shared Learning Collaborative (SLC) to help teachers and educators make sense of the collected standardized data gathered from various applications and data sources. Stephen Coller, Director of Developer Engagement for the Shared Learning Collaborative, shared that "The SLC is proud to partner with CPSI in enabling K-12 teachers to take advantage of offerings like their Early Warning System, helping educators to keep kids from slipping through the cracks."
Through this partnership, CPSI will leverage the common data architecture available through the SLC states and districts to provide tools for teachers and educators to use in identifying and helping at-risk students before it is too late. As a first-wave partner of the SLC, CPSI will be providing three separate applications to the Marketplace.
The first product is our CPSI Early Warning System. The Early Warning System (EWS) is based on the latest research of student indicators and strategies. Features of the EWS include the identification of risk factors for students, tracking of strategies to help students succeed, and feedback for educators that will help keep their students on track. "As the provider of the CPSI Early Warning System to identify early indicators for student failure," says Michelle Elia, President of CPSI, "we are excited to partner with the SLC to make a meaningful Early Warning System possible for PK-12 teachers and educators."
The second application is the CPSI Balanced Scorecard, providing teachers with the on-time information they need to improve instruction. The Balanced Scorecard "balances" student performance, student assessments, interventions, skills, achievements, observations, and goals to give teachers a holistic view of their students and a history of "what works" to help students achieve academic and personal success.
The third application is xDTools. xDTools is an education business intelligence toolset built for education. Power users can gain new insights into a large set of complex data by identifying trends, problems, and best practices.
The SLC was formed with the goal of making personalized learning a reality for K-12 students and to help teachers become more efficient. The SLC was inspired by a vision of the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) and nine participating states. The vision of the SLC is to "accelerate student achievement" by using an alliance of states, districts, educators, foundations, and content and tool providers.
CPSI delivers scalable, extensible, well-tested solutions that easily expand to larger data sets and additional external data sources. The CPSI team provides hundreds of districts with data collection, data validation processes, data stores and data marts, unique ID generation, and reporting processes with statewide and large district deployments in the US, Canada, Australia, and the UK. Our systems maintain industry best practices and are optimized for high performance, reliability, and sustainability.
