The Credit Suisse Philanthropy Campus is designed to equip the Bank's Private Banking clients from around the world with the knowledge and the tools necessary to advance an existing philanthropic endeavor or begin a new one. The curriculum will address the most pressing issues facing today's philanthropists, including ethical behavior, technology, strategic goal-setting, accountability, and changing regulations that affect traditional giving as well as social investing.
"NYU-SCPS has one of the leading educational programs in philanthropy, and we are honored to collaborate with them on this global Philanthropy Campus," said Bill Woodson, head of Credit Suisse Family Wealth Management. "The most lasting changes often begin with the actions of a single individual or family, which is why we constantly work with our partners to develop new ways to help our clients achieve their philanthropic goals."
"Philanthropy and fundraising are critical to the way civil society functions in the United States," said Naomi Levine, founder and executive director of the Heyman Center. "Other countries across the globe are beginning to recognize the importance of philanthropy and the relevance of the American model to their own increasing needs for non-government support. We salute Credit Suisse for recognizing the importance of philanthropy and for providing an intensive education in every aspect of this field so that their clients can maximize the impact of their generosity."
An impressive list of keynote speakers include: John Sexton, president of New York University; The Right Honorable Sir John Major, KG, CH, former prime minister of the United Kingdom and senior advisor to Credit Suisse; Jeff Raikes, CEO of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation; Peter Buffett, Emmy Award-winning musician and philanthropist; and Ronald Bruder, founder of the Education For Employment Foundation, as well as New York University faculty members and philanthropic experts.
To complement its comprehensive agenda, the Philanthropy Campus will feature private visits to world-renowned institutions in New York, including the Rubin Museum of Art featuring the New York Philharmonic, of which Credit Suisse is the Exclusive Global Sponsor, and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center's Evelyn H. Lauder Breast Center.
