Crispin Porter + Bogusky Awarded Titanium Grand Prix at the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival
Agency's Twitter Initiative "Twelpforce" for Best Buy Receives the Titanium Grand Prix
NEW YORK, June 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - MDC Partners announced today that their partner agency Crispin Porter + Bogusky was awarded the Titanium Grand Prix at The Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival. The Titanium Grand Prix, one of the most prestigious awards an agency and client can receive, was awarded for CP+B's Twelpforce campaign for client Best Buy. The award, one of only two Titanium Lions awarded this year, followed on the heels of CP+B being named Interactive Agency of the Year, and receiving an additional five Lions for their digital work.
The incredibly innovative "Twelpforce" campaign enabled customers to receive real time expert technical help via Twitter from actual Best Buy staff members, giving customers access to an enormous pool of technical experts. The campaign has received international attention, being profiled in a number of important publications including Contagious magazine, http://www.contagiousmagazine.com/2009/07/best_buy.php. In an article in Advertising Age following the awards ceremony, CP+B co-executive creative director and Titanium jury member Rob Reilly, who worked on the campaign, was quoted as saying, "Using technology to help solve Best Buy's problems seemed to really fit with the brand." Later in that same article, Bob Greenberg, Chairman, CEO & Global Chief Creative Officer of R/GA, who presided over the Titanium and Integrated jury praised the work as "...a very big idea that will change the industry."
"The Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival is by far the most prestigious awards festival globally, and the fact that CP+B was such an enormous winner, is a clear indication that the cutting edge digital work they do continues to raise the bar globally. We are tremendously proud of the entire team at CP+B, and believe they serve as an incredible example of MDC's ongoing commitment to always being 'The Place Where Great Talent Lives'," said Miles S. Nadal, Chairman and CEO, MDC Partners.
