With a new collaboration hub, the cooperative group expects to boost engagement, strategic alignment and productivity across 2,000 employees in 13 factories throughout the continent.
The company behind popular European sugar brands like Daddy, Truvia and Erstein, Cristal Union previously channeled all of its internal communications via emails sent to plant managers. As the business expanded to other markets outside of France last year, it recognized the growing importance of peer-to-peer collaboration across the organization.

The Jive-n interactive intranet will focus on facilitating best practice sharing across the co-op's network of subject matter experts located in various plants, factories and functional teams. Using Jive-n, Cristal Union workers can quickly search for information and post discussions, questions and answers – which are captured for future reference. As a result, employees can more quickly solve common challenges related to manufacturing and equipment maintenance to increase sugar production.
Cristal Union will integrate the cloud-based collaboration hub with Microsoft Office 365, OpenText, SAP and Skype for Business to provide a single place for employees to stay informed and engaged. In addition, the organization will take advantage of Jive's mobile apps for iOS and Android so that plant floor workers who don't use desktop computers can easily collaborate via mobile phones and tablet devices. Later this year, Cristal Union will officially launch Jive-n for its entire workforce and key external contributors in order to enhance internal communications and better disseminate company strategy messages, in part through a new CEO blog.
