Critical Path Services, LLC, Opens Environmental Fate Arm of Laboratory in Pennsylvania
Versatile Contract Research Organization Experiences Rapid Growth in Business and Expertise
GARNET VALLEY, Pa., Oct. 28, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Critical Path Services, LLC (CPS), member of the global network of knoell® companies serving the regulated scientific community, announced the opening of their new Environmental Fate Laboratory in Garnet Valley, Pennsylvania. The expansion adds adsorption/desorption, hydrolysis, photolysis, and soil metabolism studies to their diverse set of offerings, and is the latest of several additions at the award-winning PA facility.
Of the expansion to the state-of-the-art analytical facility, Scientific Services Director Larry Mallis, Ph.D. remarked, "The ability to determine the potential environmental impact of crop protection products is part of a much bigger picture—the sustainability of the safest global food supply possible. We're excited to contribute in this area."
In terms of the new technical capabilities of the lab, Mallis added, "In addition to environmental studies, we have added high resolution mass spectrometry which greatly enhances our state-of-the-art laboratory offerings by adding impurity profiling and structure elucidation capabilities. We have the ability to work with radiolabeled samples, allowing us to perform critical studies that track active ingredients and their metabolites in materials like soil and water."
The company's founder and CEO, Julie Eble, Ph.D., said of the laboratory's development: "This was the next logical step for our focused, high-quality lab. The investment in the facility, instrumentation, 14C licensing, and, most importantly, key scientific staff is a part of our commitment to excellence in science. It's part of our legacy, and it helps our clients achieve their goals. It's great when everybody wins!"
"Working with our knoell partners has been fantastic," says Eble. "Having a global platform with top-notch scientists around the world has been exhilarating. I'm especially excited to see our employee base grow and develop, and what that allows us to accomplish for our clients. It's an amazing ride."
