NEW YORK, Jan. 8, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Crunch Fitness, the world-renowned leader in innovative group fitness classes, has teamed up with SURFSET Fitness to bring a beach party into the gym! This brand-new class will feature a circuit style workout using weighted sandbags and the RipSurfer X®, the world's first total body surf trainer designed to mimic real surfing without the ocean. The exercises – half on the board and half off the board - are inspired by the dynamic movements of surfing and are designed to sculpt a lean surfer physique. "We are so excited to partner with Crunch. They are known for introducing the coolest fitness movements in the industry. We're stoked to start shaking things up with SURFSET® & SAND classes at Crunch locations in New York City, Los Angeles, Miami & San Francisco!," said Mike Hartwick, SURFSET Fitness CEO.

SURFSET® & SAND brings the RipSurfer X® to the group fitness studio, allowing gym goers the opportunity to experience this one-of-a-kind workout. The class alternates between 4-minute intervals on the RipSurfer X® and sand bags. All of the moves are beach inspired exercises for the entire body that include strength, cardio and flexibility based movements.

"Our members are always looking for different ways to challenge their bodies and this class is guaranteed to build muscle and shock the system creating real change inside and out."

SURFSET® & SAND will officially launch exclusively at Crunch on January 7th in New York City, Los Angeles, Miami and the San Francisco/Bay Area. ABOUT SURFSET FITNESS

SURFSET Fitness was born from a desire to bring extreme sports into the fitness world for people with a sense of adventure who love to challenge themselves everyday. Founder Mike Hartwick, a former Pro Hockey player, found that a surf session was much more physically intense and mentally engaging than the standard gym routine. He created the RipSurfer X® and SURFSET® method to deliver the full body benefits of surfing to anyone, anywhere, any time of the year.
