
Winners to be Announced in October at CTIA ENTERPRISE & APPLICATIONS™
WASHINGTON, July 29 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Have a hot product that should top everyone's gift list this holiday season? Look no further than the second annual CTIA Hot for the Holidays awards program, which honors the best mobile consumer electronics products and applications of the season. Hot for the Holidays award winners will be announced at CTIA ENTERPRISE & APPLICATIONS™ 2010, which will take place in San Francisco at Moscone Center West October 6-8; co-located partner conferences will begin on October 5.

CTIA will begin accepting entries next week. The Hot for the Holidays submission deadline is Wednesday, August 18, 2010. Visit www.ctiashow.com/awards to enter and to view award program guidelines. Finalists will be announced in early September, and Hot for the Holidays winners will be honored at an awards ceremony at CTIA ENTERPRISE & APPLICATIONS on Thursday, October 7.
The 10 CTIA Hot for the Holidays award categories are:
- Music Enthusiast – music phones, apps, accessories;
- Fashionista – accessories, luxury, brand name and high-end devices;
- Gadget Guru – the latest, most innovative devices on the market;
- Shutter Bug – camera phones, accessories;
- Fitness Buff – fitness apps, devices, accessories;
- Road Warrior – smartphones, netbooks, Bluetooth accessories/headsets; productivity apps;
- Gamer – gaming and entertainment apps, devices and accessories;
- Health & Wellness Nut – apps and devices that encourage good health; wellness and enhance patient care;
- Globetrotter – location-based services and apps, ticketing solutions; embedded GPS devices, booking and reservation apps; and
- Social Butterfly – apps and devices that make staying socially "networked" easy.
A panel of mobile CE media, analysts and retailers will judge entries based on innovation, functionality, creativity and "hotness." One winner will be selected from each category. All submissions will be prominently displayed in a special showcase at Moscone Center West during the CTIA show in October.
In addition to the 10 award categories, the public will have the chance to vote for their favorite products online and onsite at the show in San Francisco via text. The entry with the most online votes will be named "CTIA 2010 Hottest Web Pick." The entry that earns the most text votes during the show will be named "CTIA 2010 Hottest in Show."
Eligibility Requirements: All product entries must have a 2010 release date; upgrades and new releases are welcome. Working prototypes are allowed, and submitting companies do not have to be CTIA members or show exhibitors to enter. There is a $250 non-refundable submission fee for the first product entered and a $200 submission fee for each additional product. Physical product submissions are mandatory. The submission deadline is Wednesday, August 18.
