Cypress's TrueTouch Touchscreen Controller Powers ZTE nubia Z7 Max Smartphone

SAN JOSE, Calif., May 27, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- ZTE, a leading global provider of telecommunications equipment, network solutions and mobile devices, has selected a TrueTouch® capacitive touchscreen controller from Cypress Semiconductor Corp. (Nasdaq: CY) for its flagship nubia Z7 Max smartphone. The phone uses the TrueTouch TMA568 controller to implement an easy-wake gesture feature that enables the user to wake the phone's screen from sleep-mode by simply double tapping on the screen with a finger.

The nubia Z7 Max includes a 5.5-inch full HD touchscreen with robust water tolerance driven by the TMA568 controller. The controller brings the market's most accurate gloved finger tracking to the phone and the ability to automatically switch between glove and finger tracking without requiring the user to change the phone's settings. Additionally, TrueTouch controllers deliver the world's highest immunity to electrical noise from chargers and displays, delivering reliable touch input in real-world environments where competing solutions experience false and missed touches.
