Cyril-Scott Achieves G7 Master Printer Status
Ohio Commercial Printer Showcases its Commitment to Client Satisfaction
LANCASTER, Ohio, March 30, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Cyril-Scott Company, a Consolidated Graphics company (NYSE: CGX) with a specialty in direct marketing print and production services, announced today it has achieved G7 Master Printer status through IDEAlliance, the non-profit industry organization that develops, educates, and validates best practices in publishing and information technology. Becoming a G7 Master Printer highlights the commitment to quality, consistency and color management by the expert management and production teams at Cyril-Scott.
"We are committed to client satisfaction, and our status as a G7 Master Printer assures our customers that we are providing them with the most accurate color and the highest quality printed products available," said Matt Coltharp, president of Cyril-Scott. "By doing so we are also increasing our production efficiency, because our improved color consistency results in decreased paper waste and make-ready time – and decreased impact on the environment."
The company has been trained to utilize the new G7 methodology and can produce a press sheet to GRACoL (General Requirements for Applications in Commercial Offset Lithography) targets within acceptable tolerances. As a G7 Master Printer, Cyril-Scott can reliably produce high-quality printing with a close visual appearance from proof to press, and press to press. To continue Master Printer status, Cyril Scott will go through a yearly re-qualification to ensure it maintains IDEAlliance calibration and processes.
Among the benefits Cyril-Scott customers will receive:
- The assurance that press sheets match proofs,
- Reduced travel expense, by eliminating on-site press checks,
- Faster make-ready times and reduced paper waste, and
- Color consistency throughout the press run, and from press to press.
The G7 qualification milestone is the latest in a series of strategic moves undertaken by Cyril-Scott to strengthen its position as one of the country's leading direct mail printers and marketing solutions providers. Last August, Cyril-Scott announced the purchase of a six unit Goss M-500 press and IWEB inline finishing system, which enters service next month. In November the company hired Joe Tirschfield, a certified G7 Expert and industry-recognized color management and pre-press technology professional, as Pre-Press Technology Director to lead the implementation of G7. These are just several of many improvements in equipment and talent that comprise an investment of more than $10 million in Cyril-Scott by Consolidated Graphics.
