SANTA MONICA, Calif., Oct. 11, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Dakim BrainFitness, the #1 supplier of cognitive fitness programs to the senior living industry, today announced a platform upgrade to the Dakim BrainFitness System including a larger touch screen, faster performance and other features designed to enhance and encourage use. Developed specifically for the senior living industry and senior centers, the Dakim BrainFitness System presents entertaining, interactive and clinically tested Dakim-developed cognitive exercises on an easy-to-use touch-screen computer to help seniors stay mentally engaged.

The new Dakim BrainFitness System Gen3 retains the touch screen interface that enables even seniors with cognitive impairment or no computer skills to get a comprehensive brain fitness workout with just a tap of the screen. New technology enhances the user experience with:

  • A 2.9 GHz dual-core processor that delivers significant performance improvements and responsiveness to user input.
  • A significantly larger touch screen (20" 1080p HD) that produces bigger, brighter and more color-rich images and videos.
  • Premium stereo speakers that enhance the richness of the many music clips and other audio elements included in Dakim BrainFitness exercises.

In addition, the larger touch screen has allowed placement of new ever-present pause and volume controls on screen, adjacent to the exercise interface, for easier customization to user needs and preferences. The smaller swivel base saves space, and the tilt design with an extended range of motion makes it possible to view the screen from almost any angle — especially helpful for residents confined to bed. The housing has also been upgraded with a piano-black finish and chrome accents.

"Because the quality and production value of our exercises are such strong motivators for our users, we are always looking for ways to make the experience of playing Dakim BrainFitness even more enjoyable. Our new Gen3 platform does precisely that," said Dakim CEO Dan Michel. "Hundreds of senior living providers consistently cite the positive impact the program has on their residents, and this new platform offers an even better experience that can only increase the enthusiasm from seniors who use it."
