Dallas Attorney Marilea Lewis Named Managing Shareholder of Godwin Lewis PC
DALLAS, Dec. 2, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The Texas-based trial and appellate law firm Godwin Lewis PC is pleased to announce that firm attorney and named Shareholder, Marilea Lewis will now serve as Managing Shareholder and Chief Operating Officer.
A fifth-generation Texan and former District Judge, Ms. Lewis assumed her new role on December 1. In 2012, she became one of the few women in history to become the named shareholder of a major Texas law firm.
In addition to her roles as Managing Shareholder and COO, Ms. Lewis will continue to serve as the Chair of Godwin Lewis' Family Law Litigation and Arbitration/Mediation Practice Groups.

Ms. Lewis joined Godwin Lewis in 2011 after serving as Judge of the 330th District Court in Dallas from 2002 to 2010. She previously served as the Master/Referee of the 305th District Court from 1986 until 1992, and as an Associate Judge of the 330th District Court from 1992 to 2002.
Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, Ms. Lewis is a member of the Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists and is a certified mediator in both general and family practice. She was recognized in the 2013 and 2014 editions of The Best Lawyers in America; the annual Texas Super Lawyers list in 2012 and 2013; and D Magazine's list of "The Best Lawyers in Dallas" in 2012.
Ms. Lewis succeeds attorney Robert C. Wiegand, who served as the firm's Managing Shareholder since 2012. Mr. Wiegand will continue to serve as the firm's Executive Committee Vice President and Commercial Litigation Section Co-Chair.
