DALLAS, July 16, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Longtime health care attorney and former federal prosecutor Jody Rudman has joined Dallas-based Kendall Law Group as a partner to continue her focus on representing doctors, dentists and other health care providers.
"Just as every lawyer needs a good doctor, every doctor needs a good lawyer," says former federal judge Joe Kendall, founder of Kendall Law Group. "Jody has significant experience representing providers suing insurance companies that refuse to pay claims or that violate prompt pay laws. She is a strong advocate for doctors, dentists, medical practices and other health care providers who seek justice, whether they're stuck in reimbursement disputes with insurance companies, facing questions about their medical credentials, or defending allegations that threaten their health care licensing or even their freedom. Jody is one of a few attorneys in North Texas who focus on representing doctors and medical practice groups."
Ms. Rudman's extensive trial experience includes handling health care litigation, complex fraud disputes and white-collar criminal cases in courtrooms across a variety of jurisdictions. Her white-collar expertise includes representing clients facing individual or companywide government investigations. She is a former federal prosecutor and a former Special Assistant Attorney General of Texas with significant experience in health care fraud cases.
"As a 20-year courtroom lawyer and veteran of numerous state and federal jury trials, Jody is a legal strategist who often helps clients avoid the courtroom altogether," adds Judge Kendall.
Ms. Rudman has worked at private law firms in Dallas and Chicago, representing clients in health care, business, commercial and ERISA litigation. She is a graduate of The Law School at The University of Chicago. She earned her undergraduate degree in speech – with minors in Russian and political science – from Northwestern University. In addition to Russian, Ms. Rudman also speaks French.
A Dallas native, Ms. Rudman comes from a medical family and graduated from The Hockaday School, where she also served six years on the school's alumnae board, including four years on the executive board. She is a published author on matters involving ERISA litigation, and was named to D Magazine's list of Dallas' "Best Lawyers Under 40."
