Garza will discuss the role San Diego's Hispanic business community can play in building the county's economy, advancing shared prosperity for all communities, and how to play an influential role in the 2016 presidential election.
"We are thrilled to have Mr. Garza with us to celebrate the accomplishments of San Diego's burgeoning Hispanic business community, as well as our collective work over the past 8 years under the Hispanic Chamber of E-Commerce," said HISCEC Founder, President & CEO Tayde Aburto. "LIBRE's message resonates deeply with our members -- our contributions as entrepreneurs align with Mr. Garza's mission of building economic prosperity for our entire community. We look forward to hearing from him, especially as this year's election will be consequential for the Hispanic community."
Garza, a lifelong public servant, began his political career working in Congress and was elected councilman for Toppenish, Washington in 1996. In 2001, he was tapped by the George W. Bush Administration to serve as Deputy Director of External and Intergovernmental Affairs in the Office of the Secretary at The Department of Interior, and was appointed in 2004 to Associate Director of the Office of Public Liaison in the White House. In 2016 Mr. Garza was appointed to serve on the Board of The Harvard Journal of Hispanic Policy, an academic non-partisan review that publishes works on politics and policy.
"When the Hispanic community succeeds, America succeeds. And it's increasingly clear that hinges on our creativity, our entrepreneurial spirit, and our drive to work hard and prosper.
