The YWCA USA Board of Directors will name an interim CEO in the next two weeks and will launch an executive search for a new CEO shortly thereafter.
Richardson-Heron, M.D., served as YWCA USA CEO for more than four years. Under her leadership, the organization optimized its governance and overall organizational structure; enhanced the relationship, trust and alignment between local and national operations; cultivated new local and national development and fundraising efforts; and sharpened the focus of and significantly elevated the organization's advocacy work.
"It is my fervent hope that long after my tenure as YWCA USA CEO ends, the YWCA USA National Team, YWCA USA Board and YWCA Local Association Leaders will continue on the great path we began in September 2012," said Dara Richardson-Heron, M.D., CEO, YWCA USA. "Together, we've worked as a unified, mutually supportive organization to advocate for the individual, institutional and systemic changes pivotal to the actualization of equity for the millions of women, girls and families who are counting on YWCAs across the nation to make their world a better place."
