DayMen Leverages Operations Expertise and Broad Channel Reach of WYNIT for Americas Distribution of Lowepro and JOBY Brands
New WYNIT Partnership in U.S. and Canada Expands DayMen's Commercial Reach and Extends Internal Focus on Product Design and Marketing
PETALUMA, Calif., and GREENVILLE, S.C., July 28, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- DayMen, the worldwide owner and manufacturer of Lowepro and JOBY branded products, and WYNIT Distribution, LLC, a leading North American distributor, today announced an exclusive North American distribution agreement. As part of the agreement, WYNIT will oversee all customer-related operations and logistics and partner with DayMen sales personnel for the Lowepro and JOBY brands in the U.S. and Canada. WYNIT will also partner with DayMen on commercial trading and fulfillment efforts in support of Latin America. The agreement capitalizes on WYNIT's operational excellence, expansive sales network and leadership in the drone, photo specialty, and outdoor leisure and adventure industries. This partnership enables DayMen to extend its reach in the Americas while increasing its internal focus on product design and marketing.
"DayMen is known for its history of design innovation. We're proud to hold 85 patents worldwide for design and utility and are celebrating 50 years of Lowepro and a decade of JOBY GorillaPod," said Jeff Colton, chief executive officer of DayMen. "No one has carried, organized or protected more gear, better or longer, than us. We see our new relationship with WYNIT as a way to enhance our company's commitment to both product innovation and getting closer to the consumer. It positions us for growth and allows us to increase our focus on rapidly building and expanding our product portfolio internally while WYNIT leverages its expansive operations and sales network on our behalf."
The DayMen brands – Lowepro and JOBY – blazed the trail in the protection, carry, organization, and mounting of photographic equipment, and established a reputation built on creating the best packs, cases and portable mounting solutions for the most extreme travelers – professional photographers. As a result, DayMen products boast a legacy of "firsts" in the market, such as the first internal frame backpack, the first waterproof camera bag and the first flexible leg tripod. In the last decade, DayMen has maintained its core focus on the photo specialty market while embracing the influx of smartphones and advent of drones and quadcopters with designs that anticipate changing consumer needs and preferences.
"We understand the importance that DayMen places on the tens of millions of professional photographers and photo enthusiasts worldwide that rely on Lowepro and JOBY gear every day," said Pete Richichi, chief operating officer of WYNIT Distribution, LLC. "We see our role at WYNIT as one of growing the DayMen leadership position within photo, but also importantly introducing the brand's latest offerings to new channels and new audiences."
