SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 15, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- DDB Worldwide announced today that its San Francisco office has been named marketing agency of record for STP, the leading fuel and oil additives brand, following a competitive review. The agency has been tasked with creating, developing, executing and managing the STP integrated marketing communications plan, which includes TV, Radio, Digital, Store Associate Programs and Race Track Activation.
"We are fully committed to reinvigorating the iconic STP brand," said Jon Paluga, Director of Marketing of Armored AutoGroup. "We're confident that we have found the right marketing partner in DDB to help us do just that."
STP has been a category leader with its fuel and oil additives for over fifty years and remains one of the country's iconic brands. Throughout its history, STP has sponsored racing legends including Mario Andretti and Richard Petty and has been featured in movies, apparel, songs and music videos. Today, STP is part of the Armored AutoGroup (AAG), which includes Armor All, a brand that enlisted DDB San Francisco as its agency partner earlier this year.
"We're thrilled to be working with a brand that has such strong heritage and appeal," said Stacey Grier, Chief Strategic Officer of DDB San Francisco. "This is a rare opportunity to build on brand legacy and help open new doors for the product line. The AAG team has an ambitious vision for STP and we're excited to be a part of building that future."
The agency review concluded in November and new marketing for STP is expected to launch in the first half of 2012.
