Debra Sappington Joins LCS Constructors - Texas Division
HOUSTON, April 2, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Debra Sappington joined LCS Constructors, Inc. (LCS) in March where she will act as Director of LCS' Consultancy Group. As a highly respected laboratory design professional, Debra's new role will be to lead LCS in laboratory programming, planning and design services.
Amid her 32 years of experience, with roles including senior project manager and project architect, she provides experience and proficiency in lab planning, master planning, architecture, interiors and furniture projects.
Prior to joining LCS, Debra worked with Gensler as a Senior Project Manager and Lab Planner and was their Regional Science and Technology Leader. Prior to Gensler, she worked on science and technology market sector projects with firms Kirksey Architecture and Brown and Root, as well as varied market sector experience with other firms.
As a project manager for Gensler, Debra worked on many design and sustainability award winning projects. Most recently HISD's Berry Elementary received an IIDA Texas Oklahoma Chapter 2012 Sustainability Design Excellence Award; was a 2012 Education Project Honoree from Interior Design Magazine's "Best of the Year"; and a Merit Award from Rice Design Alliance 2003 for Housetown Design Charrette.
Debra is an honors graduate from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Design in Architecture, and continued her education earning a Masters in Architecture from the University of Houston. She is a registered Architect in the State of Texas and a LEED AP BD+C Accredited Professional. She holds certifications from NCARB, and from The Construction Specifications Institute as a Construction Documentation Technologist (CDT).
Debra's perspective and focus on function, detail and budget makes her an exciting addition to the LCS team and we are enthusiastic about bringing her unique experience and skills to our clients.
