DecalGirl Hires Licensing Industry Superstar to Direct Company's New License Strategy and Content Development
Linda M. Castillon brings multi-million dollar, revenue-generating track record to the leading innovator in the vinyl "skins" industry
MILTON, Del. and SAN DIEGO, Aug. 31, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- DecalGirl, the original company that brought full-color, removable vinyl "skins" made to fit on small and large electronic devices to the U.S., announced today that it has hired Linda M. Castillon as Senior Vice President of Licensing and Content Development.
"DecalGirl has been personalizing cell phones, laptops, gaming devices, and so much more for consumers since 2003. We had the first-on-the-scene advantage. However, with other companies now being in our product arena, bringing Linda on-board to move us into licensed Brand, Entertainment, and Action Sports content just made complete sense," said Ryan Peters, CEO and Co-Founder, of DecalGirl. "Linda Castillon will be a tremendous asset in moving this company forward to its next level of growth."
Started in 2003, DecalGirl was the first company in the U.S. to offer print-on-demand, full-color removable vinyl skins with designs on them, selling directly to the consumer through their website, www.decalgirl.com. DecalGirl creates products at the sharpest price on the web, and they easily beat their competition with their assortment of designs, quality of vinyl, delivery, and the diversity of artwork.
DecalGirl has decided that 2011 is the year to plunge into the licensed Action Sports, Brand, Celebrity, Entertainment, Gaming, and other licensed content area. With the addition to their executive team of Linda Castillon, a well-known, seasoned, licensing industry veteran, DecalGirl is now adding a wide array of licensed properties to their roster of content.
Linda Castillon has extensive product licensing experience, helping multi-million dollar consumer product companies grow their business through the addition of very carefully identified, selected and executed consumer product licensing agreements.
Castillon is best known for helping to lead Fathead, Inc.'s sports and entertainment licensing program, and for being a part of the "First Five" team that helped to take that company from zero to $40 million within two years, ultimately helping to sell the company in 2006 to Camelot Investments for $98 million dollars.
Drawing on her extensive network of contacts and her exceptional deal-making expertise, Castillon believes that she has a clear path to making this new initiative a complete success for DecalGirl.
"We are locked and loaded. We intend to beat out every other company in the space, one by one. We are the only company able to deliver product that is truly 100% MADE IN THE USA, from the vinyl we use, to our manufacturing and production, right down to our Delaware-based customer service center. In today's tough business environment, I'm very proud to be working with a company that takes MADE IN THE USA products so seriously," said Castillon.
Castillon continues, "What I love about DecalGirl is that the entire company just gets it. They know their business, and they have never forgotten where they started from. They're the experts in this category of product, and that's why I joined them. I'm thrilled to be augmenting their innovation efforts and help them with growth in all areas. But, I'm especially excited to be complimenting their business development efforts in order to take the company to the next level."
