NICE, France, May 16, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Deloitte and TM Forum, the industry association driving telecoms digital transformation through collaboration, have announced the development of a new potential industry-standard framework designed to assess and improve an organization's digital capabilities.
The Digital Maturity Model (DMM) enables organizations to quickly and consistently evaluate their current level of digital maturity, benchmark against other similar organizations, quickly prioritize digital capabilities, and assess progress throughout the transformation journey. The Digital Maturity Model was launched May 16, 2017, at TM Forum Live.
"The rise of digital capabilities is accelerating collaboration across ecosystems with a focus on capitalizing on new market opportunities, optimizing business models and exceeding customer expectations," said Tim Greulich, senior manager, Deloitte Consulting LLP and Digital Maturity and insights lead, Deloitte Digital.
"Companies will find the Digital Maturity Model to be an extremely helpful tool to evaluate their current level of digital efficacy and achieve their ambitions as they look to win the digital transformation race."
Developed in collaboration with more than 30 industry experts and led by Deloitte Digital, TM Forum's Digital Maturity Model is expected to be the new standard for the industry. This model evaluates maturity across five dimensions: strategy, operations, technology, customer and culture.
Additionally, a Digital Maturity Model app has been developed to provide a platform for companies to collaborate, assess and share digital best practices.
"Organizations that stick rigidly to old business models, cultures and infrastructures will struggle to make headway in a rapidly evolving digital world. Digital transformation is a must, but is a journey involving a complex ecosystem of capabilities, including process, people and technology," said Nik Willets, deputy CEO of TM Forum. "The Digital Maturity Model, created in collaboration with leading communications service providers, suppliers and consultancies – including significant contributions from Deloitte – helps our members navigate their digital transformation journeys while considering differences in strategy, maturity and state of the business. By identifying where gaps exist, businesses know what steps to take in order to drive their businesses forward."
