"Delta's commitment to providing two daily flights between Dickinson and Minneapolis-St. Paul will help us meet the transportation needs of this growing region of North Dakota," said North Dakota Gov. Jack Dalrymple. "Boardings at Dickinson's Theodore Roosevelt Regional Airport have risen significantly and this expanded jet service will enhance the region's access to the nation and world."

The new service will be operated by Delta Connection carrier SkyWest Airlines using 50-seat CRJ-200 regional jets. Last year, Delta also added service to Williston, N.D., where the Bakken oil reserves were first discovered.

"We've worked closely with Delta and Dickinson leaders to get expanded jet service and we appreciate the airline committing to serve southwestern North Dakota," said U.S. Sen. John Hoeven, R-N.D. "With Delta's plan for new flights in and out of Dickinson twice a day, the city will have access to two major hubs, Minneapolis to the east and Denver to the west helping western North Dakota meet the demand for expanded air service owing to a growing economy."

"The Dickinson market has demonstrated considerable recent growth due to oil and gas production, and our flights to the Minneapolis-St. Paul International airport will offer passengers convenient one-stop connectivity from one of Delta's largest hubs," said Joe Esposito, Delta's Managing Director – Domestic Network Planning. "From Minneapolis-St. Paul, Delta customers can connect to 131 nonstop destinations including 22 international destinations across Europe, Asia, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean."
