PALO ALTO, Calif., June 2, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Mobile app developer Delvv® today launched Chatty Keyboard, a smart keyboard powered by machine learning. Chatty Keyboard has all the capabilities of a GIF and emoji keyboard, instantly connecting users to shareable content as they type, while featuring the first AI-powered assistant embedded in a keyboard, connecting to other functions and apps on your phone as you mention them. Chatty Keyboard for Android is now available in the Google Play store. Delvv will release an iOS version in the near future.
Chatty Keyboard is the newest product from Delvv, a mobile development company that builds intelligent apps based on machine learning and adaptive interfaces. The company helps people overcome digital overload with apps like Glean and Defumblr, which weed out clutter and simplify mobile tasks by adapting to the user's habits. Chatty Keyboard carries this ethic into SMS and instant messaging apps like Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, and WeChat.
"Chatty Keyboard is made for people who want to communicate fast, creatively, and expressively," said Felice Miller Gabriel, founder and President of Delvv. "You can waste a lot of time hunting for the perfect emoji or GIF, or switching back and forth between different apps on your smartphone. By analyzing your typed thoughts, Chatty Keyboard fills in the blanks. You're never at a loss for words or images, and getting things done is faster and easier."
Chatty Keyboard uses machine learning algorithms that are aware of context, not just single words. This allows Chatty to understand common phrases that connect up to other actions on your smartphone - for example, when you type "let's meet up for dinner tonight at 6", Chatty will display an action tag that, when clicked, will bring the user directly to adding a new calendar event, pre-populated with the time and available information.
As users type words into Chatty Keyboard, the interface brings up suggestions in the keyboard's smart bar. Chatters can tap once to insert a suggested word, emoji, or GIF. Mention an event or important to-do item, and Chatty will give you an action tag to add to your calendar, or set a reminder. Other currently supported smart actions include hailing a car from a ride sharing service and making phone calls. Chatty Keyboard is also highly customizable, with configurable smart bar options, typing feedback, and many unique themes.
"Instead of putting intelligence into messaging apps, like Google is doing with their newly announced Allo product, we're adding that intelligence to the keyboard itself, where all of your apps can benefit from it," added Raefer Gabriel, CEO of Delvv. "Chatty makes it easier to express yourself, links up what you type to other actions on your phone, and does it all in a clean, modern, and beautiful user interface."
