Founded in 2013, the company applies machine learning and predictive analysis to tackle information overload on mobile devices. Delvv will use the funds to continue growth of its content discovery app, Glean (formerly Delvv Newsreader), while also launching new products focused on rebuilding the smartphone user experience around personalization and filtering technology.
According to Nielsen research, U.S. adults spend nearly two full days per month using apps on smartphones. That's roughly 2,880 minutes a month, 720 minutes a week, and 103 minutes a day. With the dramatic increase in app usage and inundation of mobile-centric information via social channels, entertainment, sports, news and gaming apps, mobile companies are realizing that consumers are drowning in content that is often irrelevant. Recognizing the severity of the problem, Delvv is committed to developing next generation products that deliver a curated experience of the most relevant information and apps to mobile users.
