In addition to reaching an all-time high for enrollment by increasing membership by 60,000 members to 810,000 enrolled children, DentaQuest held 80 local events across the state to educate families on the importance of routine dental care. All enrollees were also paired with patient- and family-centered dental homes to ensure comprehensive, coordinated care. And, by prioritizing preventive care and identifying cost efficiencies, the second year of the contract saw savings of more than $27.5 million under the baseline in 2013.
"These compelling results not only demonstrate the value of our partnership with TennCare, but also illustrate that this model works and can be replicated to improve the oral health of all across the United States," said Steve Pollock, president and CEO of DentaQuest.
