SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Designers of Things and BIOMEDevice, two events produced by UBM's Advanced Manufacturing Group, dedicated to MedTech innovation, Wearable Tech, 3D Printing and the Internet of Things have added another keynote to their 2015 program. Nandini Nayak, Managing Director for Fjord, Accenture Interactive's Service Design and Innovation Studio, will take the keynote stage to lead an in-depth discussion about Living Services – digital services that can learn and tailor themselves in real-time to meet the changing needs of consumers, workers, patients and citizens. Designers of Things and BIOMEDevice will take place December 2-3, 2015 at the San Jose Convention Center in San Jose, CA. Nandini (Nan) Nayak is a senior executive and thought leader for Fjord, Accenture Interactive's Service Design and Innovation Studio. Nan has spent much of her career on the creation of high performing digital experiences, championing an analytical approach to design. She is passionate about the need to bring data and design disciplines closer together to drive innovation and value out of big data.

Building on Accenture's previously released report, The Era of Living Services, Nandini will discuss how Living Services are a step beyond the limited descriptor, 'Internet of Things'. While IoT is enabling the "digitization of everything" by creating a vast network of connected machines and objects, Living Services will utilize the connected environment to fundamentally transform the way we live and work. Nandini's presentation, "The Promise of IoT: The Era of Living Services" will look at the effect Living Services will have on most aspects of our lives – from our homes, finances and workplaces; to our health, shopping and the future of travel.  She will discuss what factors might drive the pace of creation of Living Services, what businesses need to do to take advantage of the opportunity, and how brands will be affected.

"Dedicated to education around the advancement of IoT, the San Jose event is the perfect platform for a deeper discussion of the ground-breaking concept of Living Services and what they mean for our future," said Pamela Moore, SVP of Content and Strategy with UBM, PLC. "We're honored to host Nandini and look forward to more insight into Living Services' potential to change consumer expectations and experiences."

Nandini's presentation will join along with previously announced Designers of Things and BIOMEDevice San Jose keynotes:

  • Does More Connected Mean Less Secure?
    • Jay Radcliffe, Senior Security Consultant and researcher for Rapid7
  • Changing Psychology with Technology: Engaging Users to Adopt mHealth Long-term

    • Wallace Wu, Vice President of Software Products and Asian Affairs for Misfit Wearables
  • How the Healthcare Crisis is Triggering the Opportunity to Move Beyond 'Niche Device Problem Solving'
    • Joe Flower, Chief Executive Officer for The Change Project, Inc.

These two co-located events will feature keynotes, sessions and networking opportunities focused on the worlds of MedTech innovation, Wearables, 3D Printing and Internet of Things.
