Develop Great 'Family Chemistry' at BASF's Kids Lab
Saturday lab workshops are hands-on, fun and offer a great way to learn about chemistry and science
JERSEY CITY and FLORHAM PARK, N.J., Jan. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- If your family likes to learn together and is curious about what causes "stuff" to be, well, stuff, sign up for BASF's Kids Lab, which has kicked off at Liberty Science Center in Jersey City, New Jersey.
Designed for families with children ages 6-12, BASF's Kids Lab offers a fun way to explore aspects of chemistry with educator-led, hands-on experiments. At the packed kickoff sessions in December during Liberty Science Center's Twelve Days of Science, guests enjoyed a color chromatography activity, seeing how colors are made of many different hues and separating them into bands of colors on paper.
The Kids Lab program runs on Saturdays from Jan. 23 – Feb. 13 and from March 27 – June 12. The cost is just $5 per person per session and families can even take many of their creations home. Children also receive a lab apron, a certificate of participation and other takeaway items. It's the perfect winter weekend activity when there's less to do outdoors.
"BASF's Kids Lab program was created to get the next generations excited about chemistry through safe and engaging experiments," said Robin Rotenberg, Vice President and Chief Communications Officer at BASF. "Through our collaboration with Liberty Science Center, BASF hopes that children, along with their families, will gain a better appreciation and interest for the dynamic world of science, while at the same time having fun together."
