CHICAGO, March 15, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Strategic Account Management Association (SAMA), a leading global non-profit association focused on establishing strategic, key and global account management as the proven path to organic growth, awarded its annual Excellence Awards™ on March 16 at SAMA's Pan-European Conference in Amsterdam. The Excellence Awards™ honor companies each year for best-in-class practices in four categories of strategic account management.
This year judges recognized DHL in two categories: "Internal alignment of key stakeholders across the company to a strategic customer" and "Customer insights and collaborative interactions leading to a mutually successful and jointly-developed customer solution." Johnson Controls received the award for "Outstanding SAM program leadership for young programs (< 5 years old)." And finally, judges recognized Zurich Insurance in the category of "Outstanding SAM program leadership for mature programs (5+ years)."
In the category for "Internal alignment of key stakeholders across the company to a strategic customer" judges praised DHL's entry for "[demonstrating] what can be accomplished by leveraging the best of a company's diverse resources and carefully choreographing their deployment and multi-layered engagement with the customer."
In the category for "Customer insights and collaborative interactions leading to a mutually successful and jointly-developed customer solution," judges praised DHL's submission for "[creating] sustainable growth and scalability to other clients and other industries. The impact on client loyalty clearly came from delivering on co-creation, in measurable terms that mattered to the customer."
In the category for "Outstanding program leadership for young programs," judges praised Johnson Controls' winning entry for exhibiting "excellent foundational core SAM principles in the development and launch of its SAM program. From customer focus at the very incipiency, Johnson Controls will be assured sustainability as well as continued positive impact in all relevant areas."
Finally, in the category for "Outstanding program leadership for mature programs," judges highlighted Zurich's winning entry for "evolving its business model to include key influencers while improving direct relationships with the customer. The insurer provides strong executive management support and engagement, and investments in tool set development and tailored customer solutions."
SAMA will announce categories for the 2017 Excellence Awards™ in July.
