Digi International Announces Support for AWS Greengrass

MINNETONKA, Minn., June 7, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Digi International®, (NASDAQ: DGII, www.digi.com), a leading global provider of machine-to-machine (M2M) and Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity products and services, today announced support for AWS Greengrass and AWS IoT. Support for AWS Greengrass means Digi's ConnectCore® line of embedded products will enable device manufacturers to build intelligent IoT devices that securely communicate on a local network and exchange messages with each other without having to connect to the cloud.

AWS Greengrass is designed to support edge devices with cloud connectivity, enabling them to collect and analyze data closer to the source of information, while also allowing devices to securely communicate with each other on local networks. More specifically, AWS Greengrass enables developers to author serverless code (AWS Lambda functions) in the cloud and conveniently deploy them to smart connected devices that aren't always connected.
