Dinner by Heston Blumenthal Takes Highest New Entry Award Sponsored by LesConcierges At the World's 50 Best Restaurants Awards

SAN FRANCISCO, April 30, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Appearing for the first time and shooting onto the 2012 World's 50 Best Restaurants list at the 9th position, LesConcierges is pleased to announce that Dinner by Heston Blumenthal from Hyde Park's Mandarin Oriental hotel, takes the Highest New Entry Award Sponsored by LesConcierges. Dinner by Heston Blumenthal opened January 2011 and was awarded a Michelin Star within its first year. A historical approach of British gastronomy is taken in the cuisine, using recipes dating all the way back to the 14th century. The menu features unforgettable and classic dishes like the mandarin-tinged chicken liver parfait and the Sauternes-soaked tipsy cake. It has received constant high acclaim and surely will be a restaurant to watch in future 50 Best lists. Dinner is one of two of chef Heston Blumenthal's restaurants on the World's 50 Best Restaurants list, the other being The Fat Duck ranking this year at number 13.

Of all the new entries on 2012 World's 50 Best Restaurants, the Highest New Entry Award Sponsored by LesConcierges is awarded to the restaurant making their debut on the list. Past recipients of this award have included London's The Ledbury that ranked 34th at last year's awards and 14th this year. Switzerland's Schloss Schauenstein ranked 30th in 2010 and rose seven spaces to 23 in 2011. Osteria Francescana in 2009 entered at 13th and last year ranked 4th and saw its patron Massimo Bottura take home the Chef's Choice Award, an accolade he credits as a turning point in the restaurant's success.
