DivX and MediaTek Expand Partnership With New DivX Plus™ HD Certified Digital TV Chip

SAN DIEGO and LAS VEGAS, Jan. 4, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- DivX®, a division of Sonic Solutions® (Nasdaq: SNIC), and MediaTek Inc., a leading fabless semiconductor company for wireless communications and digital multimedia solutions, today announced the DivX Plus™ HD Certification of MediaTek's 5392P chip. The chip is designed to enable digital TVs to playback DivX Plus HD H.264 video using the MKV container, providing consumers with a true cinematic media experience at high-definition resolutions up to 1080p.
