DOE Announces the Certified Energy Manager® Certification Meets the Better Buildings Workforce Guidelines

ATLANTA, Sept. 11, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The U.S. Department of Energy announced that the Association of Energy Engineers® (AEE®) Certified Energy Manager® (CEM®) is recognized under the Better Buildings Workforce Guidelines (BBWG) program, making it the first program to earn BBWG Recognition. The Better Buildings Workforce Guidelines are a national framework from which organizations can develop high-quality and nationally recognized training and certification programs, helping to address consistency, quality, and scalability issues in the commercial energy efficiency workforce.

AEE's CEM recognizes individuals who have demonstrated high levels of experience, competence, proficiency, and ethical fitness in the energy management profession.  To receive recognition, a certification program must be accredited by a third party to ISO/IEC 17024. The CEM has been accredited to ISO/IEC 17024 by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
