Doing Business in Bentonville to Host "The Future of Omnichannel" Seminar
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark., March 27, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Doing Business in Bentonville Walmart Supplier Speaker Series will host a seminar on Tuesday, March 28, at the Four Points Sheraton in Bentonville, Ark. The monthly event series is aimed to assist suppliers doing business with Walmart to increase their business knowledge of top practices and business expectations.
This month's event, called The Future of Omnichannel, will consist of a panel of omnichannel experts who will share industry insights in an open questions and answers format. The two-hour seminar will begin at 7 a.m.
"As Walmart continues to invest in satisfying the Omnichannel shopper, Walmart suppliers will experience rapid changes in merchandising, marketing and technology," said Eric Howerton, CEO of WhyteSpyder and co-moderator of the event. "Suppliers can win big with Walmart omnichannel initiatives, but they need timely information of how – that's what this event is designed to do."
The seminar will be hosted by the following panelists within the Walmart supplier, marketing and technology roles:
- J.P. De Villiers, Director of Content, Walmart
- Eric Howerton, Chief Executive Officer of WhyteSpyder, Inc.
- Bill Akins, Chief Client Officer of Rockfish
- Henry Ho, Chief Strategy Officer & Co-Founder, Field Agent
- Damian Lux, Senior Director Sales, Danone Walmart Team
- Rachel Hocevar, Vice President of Client Success at Bazaarvoice
The Future of Omnichannel will be focused on the many ways today's shoppers conduct online research to make confident purchasing decisions both online and in-store. "My hope is that suppliers will walk away…with a common grounding on the new 'rules of engagement' in this era of metacommerce at Walmart/Sam's Club and the retail industry as a whole. Change has always been a constant in the GCP/Retail relationship, only now at an accelerated pace thanks to pressure from Amazon and disruptive startups," said panelist, Bill Akins.
"This month's program will provide a great opportunity for Walmart suppliers and their marketing agencies to hear firsthand from experts in the industry on this important topic, gaining a better understanding of best practices and expectations for Omnichannel," said Steve Schotta, Executive Director of Doing Business in Bentonville.
