MIAMI, Sept. 4, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Douglas Elliman Real Estate announces that Jay Phillip Parker, a prominent Florida attorney and real estate entrepreneur, has been named CEO of Douglas Elliman's Florida brokerage. With a strong background in lending, financing, and title insurance, Mr. Parker is the founding partner of Clear Title Group LLC, a partner in the Law Firm Beloff Parker Jacobs, PLC, one of Miami Beach's most prestigious real estate law firms, and Managing Partner of Titan Capital, a direct lender with offices in Miami, New York, and Connecticut.
"Jay is a dynamic and well-respected member of the South Florida real estate community and he will be a tremendous leader at Elliman in this next phase," said Douglas Elliman President & CEO Dottie Herman. "Vanessa Grout did a phenomenal job laying the foundation and growing the company into a premier brand, and Jay's incredible wealth of business experience in Florida, New York, and abroad will further enhance the Elliman brand experience for our clients and customers."
Mr. Parker began his career at the law firm of Gunster Yoakley where he worked in the real estate department of both Miami and Palm Beach Offices. While there, he was fundamental to an international rollout that dealt with over $300 million in mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Parker also served as General Counsel for LandTel Communications in New York City and oversaw the implementation of a Pan-European fixed wireless market, raising more than $375 million from numerous private equity firms. In 2001, Mr. Parker moved back to Miami Beach to form Clear Title Group, LLC and Titan Capital Florida, LLC.
"Douglas Elliman is synonymous with excellence, professionalism, and being on the cutting-edge of the market. We represent the finest properties and new developments and we're a force to be reckoned with. I'm proud to be part of the company's leadership team, and to continue and expand upon the Elliman legacy," said Mr. Parker.
"Jay is a talented businessman with great knowledge of South Florida real estate and a knack for seeking out great opportunities. I look forward to a successful future with him," added Elliman Chairman Howard M. Lorber.
Ms. Grout, who helped to lead Elliman's foray into South Florida as President & CEO of the Florida Brokerage for more than three years, will continue to be part of the Douglas Elliman family through her new position at the firm's parent company, New Valley LLC.
With approximately 250 agents and a presence from Miami to Palm Beach, Douglas Elliman's Florida Brokerage facilitated a number of high-end and record-setting transactions including Miami-Dade's most expensive single family home sale in history – the $47 Million estate at Indian Creek, the largest condo bulk buy at the prestigious St. Regis Bal Harbour ($26.4M), and a 27-unit bulk buy at Midtown Miami ($11.4M).
