Mayor Greg Stanton, City of Phoenix
"The College Football Playoff events will turn downtown Phoenix into the nation's sports epicenter. Much like Super Bowl Central, these events will provide both local and visiting fans an amazing opportunity to be part of college football's biggest game, while delivering direct economic benefits to local businesses."
Bill Hancock, Executive Director of the College Football Playoff
"After several site visits to the Valley of the Sun, our staff ultimately felt that downtown Phoenix would serve as a solid foundation for us to build on for the 2016 national championship game. We are looking forward to creating a central hub of college football excitement for the entire community."
Brad Wright, Co-chair of the Arizona Organizing Committee
"This is truly an exciting time to be in Arizona, and this is just the beginning. We encourage the community to be a part of next year's national championship by welcoming out-of-town visitors, volunteering, and enjoying these incredible events with friends and family. This isn't about one city or one game, it's about bringing this and other sporting events back to Arizona year-after-year to showcase why this is a great community to live, recreate and do business in."
